July 07 2008 - TEA-Gtk was separated to the new SF-package. TEA-GTK 17.6.4 is out.

July 04 2008 - TEA 18.0.0 is out.

Hello! Each program must moving forward, otherwise it dies. As you noticed, there are no any significant new features in TEA during last time. Just traditional bugfixes, documentation fixes, small improvements, etc. It's boring for me. Hey, what's new? Some neat bugfixes, of course! TEA was driven by inertia.

This release is rewritten from zero. A new, Qt-based TEA. An old GTK-branch will be supported just to be up-to-date with next GTK versions.

TEA 18 is available for UNIX-like systems and Windows. TEA 18.0.0 can be unstable. TEA 18 currently lacks a half of good old TEA features. Some of them will be re-implemented soon, some of them are excluded for different reasons.

So, TEA takes a second breath. I think this branch will exists 5 years or more, then TEA will reborn in a new form (possibly as a web application runned on server, something like Google docs) - actually, I don't know and don't care. TEA is a mind, a spirit, not a body. It is a set of features. The implementation may vary.

Comments, patches, translations - feel free to contribute. New TEA is under GPL v3; and manual, translations (made by myself), icons are the public domain.

P.S. Read the manual - it is under the "learn" tab.

July 02 2008 - TEA 17.6.3 packages for Zenwalk and Vector are available at Downloads page. Thanks to Paul Marwick!

New albums of my music project Atomnaya Smena are on this Jamendo page.

June 26 2008 - TEA 17.6.3 is out. With this release, GTK-branch of TEA has a new name: teagtk. So, to run "old fashioned", GTK-based TEA, use "teagtk" command instead of "tea". Package maintainers (except for Debian), please note that installation dir was changed to "teagtk" too. All that things was done to give the ability to run GTK-based TEA and a new Qt-based one simultaneously (both branches shares the same configs).

June 23 2008 - packages for Debian and Ubuntu is updated. See (Downloads page). Thanks to Marco Rodrigues.

June 14 2008 - my debute music album is released on Jamendo. TEA 18 is coming soon.

June 3 2008 - TEA 17.6.1 is out.

This release fixes all bugs those I've found. Morse coder, spell-checker, etc. Much of the code was cleaned.

A current version is a last from the 17.x branch. During this summer I'll release a new, rewritten from scratch TEA 18. The development of such "next-generation" began at autumn 2007. Be patient :)

May 05 2008 - TEA 17.6.0 for Vector Linux, and GtkSourceView 2 (for Vector) is here. Thanks to Paul Marwick.

Meet a lot of fixes. Hooraaay! I know that web-coders will be happy with a new function. Look at Markup - HTML Tools - Check for broken links. As it checks the remote files (via http), you need to install libcurl first. No libcurl - no "Check for broken links". So the libcurl is a non-mandatory dependency. Stay tuned.

January 26 2008 - TEA 17.5.4 package for Zenwalk is available. Made by Paul Marwick.

Meet a turbo-speed Preferences window! The Encodings page there was redesigned with custom control elements (so-called mega-fancy-buttons). Some bugs were fixed. As usual.

Some encoding autodetection improvements. See the ChangeLog and the Manual for details. Russian and English manual are updated.

January 07 2008 - TEA 17.5.1 is out.

Bugfixes. Yes. Definitely. ODT files opens fine. TAB-pressing is fixed too. No crap anymore. Stay tuned.

December 30 2007 - TEA 17.5.0 is out.

So, now we have some UI improvements and inner changes. Frankenstein's monster says: "Good!". Yes, it can be good, but can be a little buggy, so test it. The Famous text entry has autocompletion again. Good. Encoding chooser now works more intuitive. Good. A file filter in the File open dialog now remembers a last used filter. Good. And a total code cleanup!

Hi. This release has no significant new features. Just updates and bugfixes. Czech translation is updated by Zbyněk Mrkvička. Many list scrolling bugs were fixed. Mispelled words have a new, fancy underline. At "Preferences - Functions - Date format for Save version" you can define a timestamp format for "Save version". Default is "%Y-%m-%d-%T" (yes, the month after the year). Some imageviewer improvements.
